about
Electrify me as time goes by me, yeah
Electrify me as time goes by me, yeah
I turn up at the Filmhouse to see a movie
Called Triumph Of The Will
The projector breaks down
So there’s time to kill
Still in my blazer I wander uptown 215
High Street, Phoenix Records
And I purchase the banana album
Which will twist me and turn me like a double slalom
I know it’s always gonna
Electrify me, etc
I listen to it that night in our living room
I nearly record player off the dining table
Run Run Run just isnae right, it’s fantastic
It seems to run on gnarled electricity
Syphoned off rickety 1920s projectors
Flickering in and out of the ether
All Tomorrow’s Parties vibrates
Like a basement ceiling
Made out of squares of glass
Over which native New Yorkers pass

Most of these songs were available on the 1995 "Yes darling, but is it Art?" CD release. I'm assuming the masters are gone, which is fine if you do a good transfer from the original records. When I saw these were remastered, I was looking forward to some light de-clicking and removal of rumble from the original transfers. This isn't the case. Instead they added some weird super loud "tape hiss" for lack of a better term, and it makes it sound harsh. Very disappointed in the "remastering". numanoid1979
